Islanders D Joseph signs entry-level contract with Arizona Coyotes


The Charlottetown Islanders announced on Twitter today that defenceman and team captain Pierre-Olivier Joseph has signed an entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes.

The Coyotes drafted the six-foot-two defender in the first round, 23rd overall, of the 2017 NHL draft. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Chambly, QC native is in the midst of a career year with the Islanders. Through 23 games this season, Joseph has three goals and 21 points. He returned to the ice today against Shawinigan following a three-game suspension for slashing Cape Breton Screaming Eagles forward Declan Smith across the hands, posting two assists.
