Girard named captain of Drakkar

Late on Friday, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar announced the nomination of the team’s newest captain. The player selected to lead the team is forward Antoine Girard.

Drafted by Baie-Comeau in the 6th round, 103rd overall, in the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft, Girard has spent his entire career with the Drakkar. In 134 games played, the 19-year old winger has amassed 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 total points. The gritty forward has also racked up 167 penalty minutes.

Joining Girard in the team’s leadership group will be Xavier Bouchard and Simon Chevrier for home games, while Christopher Benoit and Bradley Lalonde will be serving as alternate captains for road games. Gabriel Fortier will also serve as a full-time alternate.
