Poulin goes second overall to Sherbrooke


The Sherbrooke Phoenix selected Samuel Poulin with the second overall pick at the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft in Saint John on Saturday June 4, 2017.

Poulin, 16, has spent the past two seasons with the College Esther-Blondin Phenix of the QMAAA. This past season, the Blainville, Que., native scored 30 goals and 68 points in 39 games.

Poulin is the younger brother of Nicolas, currently with the Sherbrooke Phoenix as well.

Sherbrooke’s next pick in the draft is 11th overall but subject to change barring any trades.
