Wednesday Night Wrap-Up: Islanders pushed to brink, Sags tie series

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinals continued on Wednesday night.

In Chicoutimi, Que., Joey Ratelle scored late in the third period to power the Chicoutimi Saguenéens to a 4-3 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The best-of-seven series is tied 2-2.

Brendan Hamelin scored twice while Mark Bzowey added a single marker for the Saguenéens.

Mathieu Joseph netted a pair of goals while Bokondji Imama also netted a goal for the Sea Dogs.

Julio Billia made 30 saves in the win for Chicoutimi. Callum Booth stopped 19 of 23 shots in the loss for Saint John.


In Boisbriand, Que., Alex Barré-Boulet had a goal and two assists while Pierre-Luc Dubois added two goals as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada downed the Charlottetown Islanders 4-2.

The Armada lead the best-of-seven series 3-1.

Shaun Miller also scored for the Armada.

Carl Neill and Alex Dostie replied with goals for the Islanders.

Samuel Montembeault made 34 saves in the win for Blainville-Boisbriand. Matthew Welsh stopped 16 of 20 shots in the loss for Charlottetown.
