Friday Night Wrap-Up: Islanders, Sea Dogs take 1-0 series lead

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinals officially got underway on Friday in Charlottetown and Saint John.

In Charlottetown, Mark Grametbauer made 37 saves as the Charlottetown Islanders blanked the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 3-0.

The Islanders lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.

Kameron Kielly, Alex Dostie and Dillon Boucher each scored goals for the Islanders.

Samuel Montembeault stopped 26 of 28 shots in the loss for Blainville-Boisbriand.


In Saint John, N.B., the Saint John Sea Dogs sent their fans home happy as they defeated the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 4-1.

The Sea Dogs lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.

Simon Bourque, Cole Reginato, Mathieu Joseph and Julien Gauthier each scored goals for the Sea Dogs.

Nicolas Roy had the lone goal for the Saguenéens.

Callum Booth made 21 saves in the win for Saint John. Julio Billia stopped 35 of 39 shots in the loss for Chicoutimi.
