Tuesday Night Wrap-Up: Sagueneens, Armada advance to semi-finals
A pair of second round playoff series’ wrapped up on Tuesday with two Game 7s in Blainville-Boisbriand and Rouyn-Noranda.
In Blainville-Boisbriand, Que., Alex Barré-Boulet had three goals and an assist to lead the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to a 7-1 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
The Armada wins the best-of-seven series 4-3.
Joël Teasdale had two goals while Alexandre Alain and Yvan Mongo added single markers for the Armada.
Zachary Malatesta had the lone goal for the Titan.
Samuel Montembeault made 24 saves before being replaced by Francis Leclerc, who stopped the only shot be faced in his 5:29 of relief. Montembeault was credited with the win. Anthony Dumont-Bouchard stopped 29 of 36 shots in the loss for Acadie-Bathurst.
The Armada will now play the Charlottetown Islanders in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal series.
In Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Olivier Galipeau scored a pair of goals, including the game winner in overtime, as the Chicoutimi Saguenéens edged the Rouyn-Nornada Huskies 4-3.
The Saguenéens win the best-of-seven series 4-3.
Kelly Klima also scored twice for the Saguenéens.
Jean-Christophe Beaudin, Mathieu Boucher and Manuel Wiederer replied with goals for the Huskies.
Julio Billia made 29 saves in the win for Chicoutimi. Olivier Tremblay stopped 24 of 28 shots in the loss for Rouyn-Noranda.
