Friday Night Wrap-Up: Sags takes series lead, Armada stay alive

The two remaining Quebec Major Junior Hockey League second round playoff series’ continued on Friday night.

In Bathurst, N.B., Connor Bramwell had two goals and Alex Barré-Boulet had a goal and an assist as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 5-1.

The Titan lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Charlie Roy and TJ Melancon also netted goals for the Armada.

Christophe Boivin had the lone goal for the Titan.

Samuel Montembeault made 30 saves in the win for Blainville-Boisbriand. Reilly Pickard stopped 23 of 27 shots before being replaced by Anthony Dumont-Bouchard, who stopped all 13 shots he faced in his 19:05 of relief.

In Chicoutimi, Que., Olivier Galipeau and Dmitry Zhukenov had a goal and an assist each as the Chicoutimi Saguenéens dowed the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3-1.

The Saguenéens lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Frédéric Allard also scored for the Saguenéens.

Alexandre Fortin had the only goal for the Huskies.

Julio Billia made 29 saves in the win for Chicoutimi. Samuel Harvey stopped 18 of 21 shots in the loss for Rouyn-Noranda.
