Monday Night Wrap-Up: Huskies advance, Olympiques force game seven


Two Quebec Major Junior Hockey League series’ continued with Game sixs taking place in Sydney and Rouyn-Noranda.


Cape Breton(7) vs Gatineau(10)

In Sydney, N.S., Mitchell Balmas scored three goals and Zack MacEwen scored twice as the Gatineau Olympiques defeated the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 5-1, forcing Game 7 on Tuesday. The series is tied 3-3.

Yannik Bertrand had the lone goal for the Screaming Eagles. Tristan Bérubé made 28 saves in the win for Gatineau. Kyle Jessiman stopped 27 of 32 shots in the loss for Cape Breton.


Rouyn-Noranda(2) vs Halifax(15)

In Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Gabriel Fontaine had a goal and two assists as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies elminated the Halifax Mooseheads with a 5-2 win on Monday. The Huskies win the series 4-2.

Philippe Myers, Tyler Hinam, Mathieu Boucher and Jean-Christophe Beaudin each scored single markers for the Huskies. Frédéric Aubé and Jordan Lepage replied with goals for the Mooseheads.

Olivier Tremblay made 22 saves in the win for Rouyn-Noranda. Alexis Gravel stopped 34 of 39 shots in the loss for Halifax.
