OFFICIAL: Huskies acquire Cormier from Wildcats

The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies have added some experience and leadership to their roster, acquiring forward Lane Cormier form the Moncton Wildcats.

In return, Rouyn-Noranda sends forward Anthony Wojcik, 18, and a secodn-round pick in 2017 to Moncton.

Serving as Moncton’s captain this season, Cormier, 19, has taken part in 33 games with the Wildcats this season. The six-foot-one, 190-pound frame has six goals and five assists for 11 points, along with 73 penalty minutes.

As for Wojcik, he is currently in his second full QMJHL season. The St-Hubert, Que., native has played 30 games so far this season, registering one goal and three assists for four total points.

The deal was made official by the QMJHL on Jan. 6, 2017.
