OFFICIAL: Foreurs acquire Lemay from Cataractes


The Val-d’Or Foreurs completed a trade with the Shawinigan Cataractes on Friday morning before the conclusion of the QMJHL trade period.

Shawinigan receives a ninth-round in 2017 pick with forward Tommy Lemay going to Val-d’Or.

Lemay, 19, has played 23 games for the Cataractes this season picking up 10 points along the way. The Fortierville, Que., native was drafted by Shawinigan in the eighth round of the 2013 QMJHL draft but would spend to seasons in the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League with the Princeville Titan’s before making the jump to major junior.

The trade was made official by the QMJHL on Friday Jan. 6, 2017, the final day of the trade period.
