Screaming Eagles’ Beauchamp leaves team

Anthony Beauchamp of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles has decided to leave the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team.

The Screaming Eagles announced the news in a press release on Monday.

Beauchamp, 18, appeared in 17 games with the Screaming Eagles this season, recording one goal and six points, along with posting a minus-6 rating and 11 penalty minutes.

The Gatineau, Que., native was acquired by Cape Breton on Aug. 26 from the Baie-Comeau Drakkar for a sixth-round pick at the 2017 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

Beauchamp made the decision to leave the team to play in the Quebec Junior Hockey League.

The Screaming Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they host the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League defending champion, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, at Centre 200 in Sydney.
