Bulldogs, Generals and Pats make CHL shortlist for 2018 Memorial Cup


The Canadian Hockey League announced on Monday three teams will have the chance to make formal bid presentations to host the 2018 MasterCard Memorial Cup.

The 2018 MasterCard Memorial Cup will mark the 100th edition of the tournament. Teams including the Hamilton Bulldogs and Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League as well as the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League have each made the CHL shortlist to host the event.

National bid presentations will be heard by a national site selection committee. Details regarding the selection committee will be released at a later date. The host city for the 2018 tournament will be announced in February.

The tournament will feature the host team, along with the champions of the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The 2018 MasterCard Memorial Cup will take place May 17-27, 2018.

Meanwhile, the 2017 MasterCard Memorial Cup will be hosted by the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League, May 18-28.
