Chabot, Morand and Alain added to Team QMJHL roster
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced changes to its roster on Monday ahead of the CIBC Canada Russia Series.
The league has added Thomas Chabot of the Saint John Sea Dogs, Antoine Morand of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Alexandre Alain of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to its roster.
Meanwhile Pascal Laberge of the Victoriaville Tigres and Jeremy Roy of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada will miss the series due to injuries.
Chabot, 19, was reassigned to the Sea Dogs after starting the season with the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators. In four games with Saint John, the defenceman has a goal and eight points, along with posting a plus-1 rating and four penalty minutes.
Morand, 17, has appeared in 21 games with the Titan this year, recording nine goals and 24 points, along with posting a minus-4 rating and eight penalty minutes. The Mercier, Que., native is eligible for this year’s National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Alain, 19, has appeared in 20 games with the Armada this season, recording 10 goals and 18 points, along with posting a plus-5 rating and 22 penalty minutes.
Team QMJHL opens the CIBC Canada Russia Series on Tuesday against Team Russia in Chicoutimi, Que. The teams will also meet on Thursday in Baie-Comeau, Que.
