Czech Republic offence explodes to top Canada White 8-2


It was a rough day for Team Canada White on Tuesday as they met up with Team Czech Republic in round robin play. The Czechs offence exploded for an eight-goal performance as they topped the Canadians 8-2.

Frantisek Rehak got the scoring parade started four minutes into the contest to make it 1-0 Czech Republic. Jakub Lauko kicked off what would prove to be a monster night for him to double their lead to 2-0 with 11 minutes played in the game.

Canada White finally responded a minute later as Akil Thomas potted a powerplay goal. Halifax Mooseheads blueliner Jared McIsaac picked up a helper on the play as the Czechs lead was cut to 2-1.

Team Czech Republic would add three goals in the middle period to blow the game open. Karel Plasek scored first to push the score to 3-1 before Lauko added his second of the night on a man advantage. Adam Gajarksy capped of the second period scoring just before the nine minute mark as they took a 5-1 lead into the intermission.

Samuel Houde scored five minutes into the third period as Canada White attempted to stop the bleeding, however they still trailed 5-2. The Czech Republic squad kept on coming as Lauko completed his hattrick to restore his teams four-goal lead, 6-2. Dominik Arnost would add a pair of goals in the final four minutes of the game to account for an 8-2 final score.
