Knights advance to MasterCard Memorial Cup final with win over Huskies


RED DEER, ALTA. – Matthew Tkachuk had two goals and an assist while Mitchell Marner had four assists as the London Knights downed the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-2 at the MasterCard Memorial Cup on Tuesday.

With the win, the Knights finish the round robin with a 3-0 record, advancing to the MasterCard Memorial Cup on Sunday.

Christian Dvorak, Max Jones and JJ Piccinich chipped in with goals for the Knights.

Timo Meier had both goals for the Huskies.

Tyler Parsons made 30 saves in the win.

Chase Marchand stopped 20 of 24 shots in the loss.

The final round robin game will be played on Wednesday with Red Deer playing Brandon.
