QMJHL property take home silver medal at Telus Cup

Four Quebec Major Junior Hockey League prospects took home the silver medal at this year’s Telus Cup in Quispamsis, N.B., on Sunday.

Ben Reid (Saint John Sea Dogs), Alexandre Lafreniere (Saint John Sea Dogs), Ian Smallwood (Saint John Sea Dogs) and Jacob Stewart (Blainville-Boisbriand Armada) were part of the Saint John Vito’s team, who were defeated 4-1 in the tournament final by the North York Rangers.

Reid, Lafreniere and Smallwood were pointless in the game, while Stewart made 22 saves in the loss.

The Vito’s became the first New Brunswick team to qualify for the medal-round at the Telus Cup.
