QMJHL property win awards at Telus Cup
Two Quebec Major Junior Hockey League prospects won awards at this year’s Telus Cup, Canada’s National Midget Championships, in Quispamsis, N.B.
Sandro Silvestre (Shawinigan Cataractes property) of the Lions du Lac St-Louis was named the tournaments Top Goaltender Award, while Adam Capannelli (Baie-Comeau Drakkar prospect) of the Lions du Lac St-Louis was given the tournaments Top Forward Award.
Other award winners were Mathias Laferrière (Lac St-Louis – Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer), Ty Smith (Lloydminster – Top Defensive Player), Ty Gitzel (Saskatoon – Most Sportsmanlike Player) and Ryan Porter (Dartmouth – Esso Scholarship).
The Telus Cup continues this weekend with the semifinals on Saturday, while the bronze and gold medal games are set for Sunday.
