Mooseheads prospect announces commitment to Notre Dame
Michael O’Leary announced via Twitter today that he will be suiting up for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish next season.
Very proud to announce my commitment to play college hockey at the University of Notre Dame, thanks to everyone that supported me #GoIrish ☘

The 17-year-old forward was a first round pick of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the 2014 QMJHL draft. After not reporting to Cape Breton, the Eagles relinquished his rights and he re-entered the draft in 2015 where he was selected in the third round by the Moncton Wildcats. The Cats then dealt O’Leary to his hometown Halifax Mooseheads in December as part of a package that landed Cody Donaghey.
O’Leary is currently playing for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL where he has 17 points in 36 games.
