Mooseheads deal Danny Moynihan to Cataractes

The Halifax Mooseheads made a trade with the Shawinigan Cataractes on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2016, acquiring Shawinigan’s first round pick in 2016 along with 20-year-old defenceman Zachary Taylor in exchange for 20-year-old forward Danny Moynihan and Quebec’s third round pick in 2016.
Taylor, a native of Dartmouth, has spent his entire career with the Cataractes, amassing 25 points in 167 games. He has maintained a plus-minus+11 rating this season.
Moynihan was playing in his third full season in Halifax and was the team’s leading scorer with 50 points in 38 games in 2015-2016. He originally signed with the team as a free agent in 2013.
