Armada’s Kristian Pospisil invited to Slovak World Junior Camp

The Slovak junior national team announced their selection camp roster on Tuesday, and one QMJHL player is among the invitees.

Kristian Pospisil of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada was one of four Slovaks playing in North America who head coach Ernest Bokros and his staff want to take a look at.

Pospisil, who hails from Zvolen, is second on the Armada in points (15-9-24) in his first season in the QMJHL. The 19-year-old was previously a part of the EC Salzburg system. The six-foot-two, 179-pound forward is also known as a bit of a tough customer – he led the MHL in penalty minutes last season.

Pospisil does have experience with the Slovak national team, having put up a goal and an assist at last year’s World Under-18 championships.

This year’s crop of Slovak players will have a tough task if they want to duplicate their performance at last year’s World Juniors, where they won the bronze medal. Goaltender Denis Godla, who was named tournament MVP, is no longer eligible to compete at the Under-20 level.
