Sea Dogs’ Noel added the Team QMJHL roster
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has announced Saint John Sea Dogs centre Nathan Noel has been added to Team QMJHL for the 2015 CHL Canada/Russia Series.
The 18-year-old from St. John’s, N.L., will be making his first appearance in the series. Saint John teammates defenceman Thomas Chabot and forward Mathieu Joseph are also scheduled to participate.
The six-game CHL Canada Russia series pits a team of Russian junior stars against teams of Canadian players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League.
Noel has four goals and 13 points in 15 games in his third season with the Sea Dogs. He has nine points in his last six games after a four-assist performance in Saturday’s 7-3 win over the Quebec Remparts.
In 144 career regular season games, Noel has 44 goals and 114 points. He participated in rookie camp and training camp with the Anaheim Ducks.
The 2015 CHL Canada/Russia Series began this week with Team WHL winning games in Kelowna and Kamloops, B.C.
The series now shifts to the OHL with stops in Owen Sound tonight and Windsor on Monday. Games in the QMJHL are Tuesday, Nov. 17 in Rouyn-Noranda and Thursday, Nov. 19 in Halifax.
All games will be broadcast nationally on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
