Phoenix’s Audette signs entry-level contract with Canadiens


The Montreal Canadiens have signed Sherbrooke Phoenix forward Daniel Audette to a three-year entry-level contract.

Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced the news on Friday.

In 60 games last season, the native of Blainville, Que., recorded 29 goals and 44 assists along with posting a minus-16 rating and 64 penalty minutes.

Audette was drafted by Montreal at the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft in round five, 147th overall.
