Cataractes name Carrière new head scout

The Shawinigan Cataractes will have a new head scout for the upcoming season.

The team announced Mario Carrière as the clubs new head scout on Friday.

According to the release, Carrière has 20 years experience within the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League as a coach, general manager, and scout.

Carrière has spent the last three seasons as the Cataractes assistant coach. He was also the assistant general manager to Martin Mondou.

Carrière replaces Alain Bissonnette, who after eight seasons with Shawinigan, joined the National Hockey League’s Boston Bruins this past week.
