Sea Dogs sign forward from Ontario

The Saint John Sea Dogs announced yesterday they have signed free-agent forward Dawson Theede.

Theede, 18, is a native of Ottawa, Ont., and played with the Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) last season scoring 17 goals and 27 points in 41 games. He was named an OJHL Second-Team All-Prospect.

The six-foot-three, 209-pound forward represented Team Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge in Kindersley, Sask. He was pointless in four games.

The Sea Dogs expect Theede to be at training camp in August.
