Oceanic pick commits to University of Maine
Rimouski Oceanic draft pick Carson MacKinnon has reportedly committed to the University of Maine for the 2017-18 season.

MacKinnon, currently 15, was a fourth round pick, 61st overall by the Oceanic at the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft.
The Summerside, P.E.I., native spent the past season with the Notre Dame Hounds Midget AAA of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey Leage (SMHL) scoring six goals and 21 points in 37 games. He represented Team P.E.I. at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, B.C., scoring 12 goals and and 16 points in six games which was good enough for second in tournament scoring. His rights are also owned the the Summerside Western Capitals who selected him with a territorial pick during the 2015 MHL Draft.
MacKinnon is the younger brother of former Charlottetown Islanders and Oceanic defenceman Ryan MacKinnon.
