Wildcats hire assistant coach and goaltending coordinator
The Moncton Wildcats announce the addition of Erin King as the new assistant-coach, joining head coach Darren Rumble.
King joins the Wildcats from ST FX University, where he was an Assistant Coach and Assistant hockey school director with the Men’s hockey team. King was also the Nova Scotia scout for the Wildcats in the 2013-2014 season.
Wildcats head coach Darren Rumble said in a team press release that Erin brings a lot of experience to the club and King is anxious to get started. “
“I’m thrilled to be joining a first-class organization like the Moncton Wildcats. I look forward to teaming with Coach Darren Rumble and the staff, working diligently towards our goal of developing high level players and ultimately bringing a championship to the City of Moncton.” said King in a press release.
Roger Shannon, Director of Hockey Operations, is excited to have an individual like Erin joining the team.
“Erin is a hardworking, dedicated person who does his homework, he has done a terrific job at X, and knowing how fierce the competition is in the AUS Hockey Conference, Erin is ready to take on the duties we will ask of him” he said.
In addition- The Wildcats announced the hiring of former pro goaltender Scott Munroe as the Coordinator of Goaltending Development.
The 33-year-old Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native brings a wealth of experience to Moncton, both as a player and instructor.
During his playing career, he was one of the top goaltenders in the American Hockey League, and also suited up in the Swedish EliteHockey League and the Russian KHL league with Neftehmik. Most recently, Munroe was an instructor at one of New England’s premier hockey goaltending schools.
“Scott presented himself as a person ready to get it going, his enthusiasm and background is just what we are looking for in a Goaltending Coordinator. Scott will work with all our goalies at all levels to better them and prepare them for their future; we are very excited to have such a quality young man joining us” said Shannon.
