Current and former QMJHL players receive NHL invites
A number of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League players have received invites to National Hockey League team camps.
Quebec Remparts defenceman Matt Murphy has been invited to the Pittsburgh Penguins camp. In 59 games between the Halifax Mooseheads and Remparts this season, Murphy recorded eight goals and 22 assists.
Quebec Remparts defenceman Nikolas Brouillard will participate in the Toronto Maple Leafs camp. In 61 games with the Remparts, the St-Hilaire, Que., native posted 17 goals and 40 assists.
Charlottetown Islanders forward Alexandre Goulet has been invited to attend the New Jersey Devils camp. The native of Disraêli, Que., recorded 35 goals and 26 assists in 65 games this past season.
Halifax Mooseheads defenceman Cavan Fitzgerald will attend the San Jose Sharks camp. In 40 games with the Mooseheads this season, Fitzgerald notched four goals and 27 assists.
Victoriaville Tigres forward Julien Proulx will take part in the Calgary Flames camp. The Pont-Rouge, Que., native recorded one goal and three assists in 45 games with the Tigres this past season.
A pair of former Quebec Major Junior Hockey League players were also invited to NHL camps.
Former Moncton Wildcats forward Taylor Burke will participate in the Montreal Canadiens camp. In 56 games between the Quebec Remparts and Wildcats, the Halifax, N.S., native posted 16 goals and 21 assists.
Former Gatineau Olympiques defenceman Mickaël Beauregard will attend the Pittsburgh Penguins camp. In 59 games with Gatineau last season, the 20-year-old recorded three goals and 12 assists.
