Dwyer, 37, was relieved of his coaching duties with the Islanders in late April. The Dalhousie, N.B., native served four seasons behind the bench – two with P.E.I. Rocket and two with the Charlottetown Islanders – while posting an all-time 116-133 (won-lost) record. He was the first coach since Alain Vigneault in 2004 to help the team reach the second round of the playoffs.
Medvescak Zagreb finished 13th in the KHL’s West Conference this past season with a 23-32-5 record for 68 points.
