Saguenéens add forward from Olympiques


The Chicoutimi Saguenéens acquired forward Jonathan Bourcier from the Gatineau Olympiques today at the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft in Sherbrooke, Que.

In return, the Olympiques received a fourth-round pick, 71st overall in 2015.

Bourcier scored 13 goals and 30 points in 66 games while maintaining a minus-six rating with the Olympiques this past season. The Gatineau, Que., native was an eighth round pick by Gatineau in 2012 and has skated in 137 regular season games, scoring 28 goals and 54 points.

The five-foot-seven, 158-pound winger will turn 19 on Nov. 17.

With the 71st overall pick, the Olympiques selected defenceman Jacob Dumouchel from the Gatineau L’Intrépide of the QMAAA. The Gatineau native posted 11 assists in 39 games.

The trade was made official by the QMJHL.
