Phoenix acquire overager Gauthier from Remparts for Thierus and picks
The Sherbrooke Phoenix acquired 20-year-old forward Guillaume Gauthier from the Quebec Remparts on Saturday.
In return, the Phoenix traded 17-year-old forward Lucas Thierus, a seventh-round pick, 120th overall, in 2015, and a third-round pick at the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Gauthier, the native of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Que., recorded 27 goals and 29 assists along with posting 31 penalty minutes in 66 games with the MasterCard Memorial Cup host Remparts.
Thierus, who’s from St-Jérôme, Que., notched two goals along with posting eight penalty minutes in 28 games with the Phoenix this season.
With the 120th overall pick, the Remparts selected Christian Huntley of the Halifax MacDonalds.
