CONFIRMED: Wildcats acquire goaltender from Screaming Eagles

The Moncton Wildcats have acquired the rights to overage goaltender Zachary Fortin from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

In return, the Wildcats send a 10th-round pick in 2015 (164th overall), originally belonging to Acadie-Bathurst, to the Screaming Eagles.

Fortin spent last season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League appearing in 42 games and posting a 20-16-4 (won-lost-tie) record with a 2.72 goals against average and a 0.924 save percentage.

Prior to the 2014-15 season, Fortin split the 2013-14 season between Rimouski and Cape Breton totalling a 16-3 record with a 3.53 goals against average and 0.885 save percentage.

The native of St-Jérôme, Que., is a former sixth round pick of the Quebec Remparts in 2012.

The trade was made official by the QMJHL today.
