CONFIRMED: Voltigeurs acquire DeLuca
The Drummondville Voltigeurs have acquired overage forward Anthony DeLuca from the Rimouski Oceanic inexchange for a first-round pick in 2017, originally belonging to Rimouski.
The first-round pick was originally acquired by Drummondville on Dec. 19, 2014 when goaltender Louis-Philip Guindon was traded to Rimouski.
DeLuca wrapped up his third QMJHL season with the Oceanic, winning the President Cup and playing in the MasterCard Memorial Cup. In 68 games during the season, the Montreal, Que., native scored 44 goals and 91 points before adding 11 goals and 18 points in 19 playoff games.
The Oceanic drafted DeLuca in the second round in 2012 and has played in 202 career regular season games scoring 101 goals and 209 points.
The trade was made official by the QMJHL this morning.
