CONFIRMED: Sea Dogs acquire overage netminder

The Saint John Sea Dogs have acquired goaltender Marc-Antoine Turcotte from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada for a pair of picks.

In return, the Armada acquires a third-round pick (46th overall) from Saint John. Also included in the deal is Saint John sending a fourth-round pick, 57th overall, to the Armada.

Turcotte, who will turn 20 before the season starts, appeared in 18 games last season with the Armada, posting an 8-9 (won-lost) record with a 2.17 goals against average and a 0.908 save percentage. Turcotte was never drafted into the QMJHL and was invited to Armada’s training camp in 2012.

The trade was made offical by the QMJHL today. The 2015 QMHL Draft gets underway at 11 a.m. AST tomorrow in Sherbrooke, Que.

Saint John holds the first overall pick.
