CONFIRMED: Remparts deal Donaghey to Mooseheads

The Québec Remparts have traded defenceman Cody Donaghey to the Halifax Mooseheads for a second-round pick in 2018.

The trade was made official by the league today.

Donaghey, 19, tallied 15 points in 24 games with the Remparts last season. The St. John’s, Nfld. native missed the majority of last year with a knee injury.

The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect began his major junior career with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Donaghey was selected 14th overall by the Huskies in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft. The six-foot-one defenceman was moved to Québec during his rookie season.

The trade completes an earlier deal between the two clubs which sent Zachary Fucale and Matthew Murphy to the Remparts in December, 2014.

The 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft gets underway at 11 a.m. AST tomorrow in Sherbrooke, Que.
