Pair of former QMJHLers land at Queens U

The Golden Gaels of Queens University announced today the signing of eight players for their roster for the upcoming scholastic season. Among the signings are two former QMJHL players in forward Shawn Boudreau (Sherbrooke Phoenix and Moncton Wildcats) and goaltender Jacob Brennan (Acadie-Bathurst Titan).

While Boudreau only played 13 games for the Wildcats during the 2011-12 season registering two assists, he was selected by the Phoenix in the 2012 Expansion Draft that welcomed the city of Sherbrooke back into the QMJHL. In 195 games in the Maritime Hockey League spread out through stops with the Amherst Ramblers, Yarmouth Mariners and South Shore Lumberjacks, Boudreau notched 72 goals and added another 98 assists.

For Brennan, he played parts of four seasons with the Titan after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2010 QMJHL Draft. After serving as the backup to Robert Steeves in his first year, he would go on to earn the starter’s role where he would remain until mid-way through the 2014-15 season when the Titan would go in another direction, releasing the 54-90-11 (172 GP) netminder last December. Brennan would finish his junior career with the Ontario Hockey League’s Mississauga Steelheads where he would finish with a 6-15 record in 23 games.
