Wildcats’ Johnson suspended two games

Moncton Wildcats forward Stephen Johnson has been suspended two games for a dangerous hit.

The decision was handed out by the league today upon league revision.

On the Suspension and Fines section of the QMJHL website, Johnson’s suspension is for “have dangerous push an opponent against the board.”

The incident occurred Saturday April 11, 2015 in Game 2 against the Halifax Mooseheads at the 7:15 mark of the first period. Johnston was assessed a double minor for checking from behind.

Johnson has five goals in seven playoff games. He is eligible to return to Moncton’s line-up for Game 5 if the series expands past four games. The Mooseheads currently lead the series 2-0.

Moncton and Halifax continue their best-of-seven second round series Tuesday April 14 in Halifax.
