The Baie-Comeau Drakkar welcomed the Saint John Sea Dogs back into their home rink for game two of their best-of-seven series Saturday afternoon.

A two-goal second period was the difference maker for the Drakkar as they came out with a 4-1 win to take a 2-0 series lead.

Nicolas Meloche scored a powerplay goal just over eight minutes into the second frame to open the scoring. Matthieu Desautels and Vaclav Karabacek had the helpers.

Later in the period, Simon Desbiens put one past Sébastien Auger to give the Drakkar a 2- lead with five to go in the period. Jasmin Boutet and Karabacek notched assists.

In the third period it was the QMJHL’s only 50 goal scorer in the regular season, Maxime St-Cyr, putting home his first goal of the playoffs to push the lead to 3-0. Dzmitry Ambrozheichik grabbed an assist while Karabacek added his third of the contest.

Saint John responded two minutes later with a powerplay marker from Nathan Noel. Jason Bell had the lone helper to cut the lead to 3-1.

An empty-net goal late in the game from Anthony Beauchamp sealed the victory, 4-1, and gave the Drakkar a two games to one advantage in the best-of-seven series.
