Titan’s Dumulong suspended

For Acadie-Bathurst Titan defenceman Nicolas Dumulong, his final day as an 18-year-old will be spent off the ice, serving a one-game suspension.

The suspension listed on the QMJHL’s Suspensions and Fines page lists the violation being due to the “Addition of Instigator Codes 3.4” stemming from the number of instigator penalties Dumulong has accumulated over the course of the 2014-15 regular season.

Dumulong leads the Titan with 13 fights this season, his most recent being against Lane Cormier of the Moncton Wildcats which Dumulong instigated after Cormier hit Titan forward Mark Simpson from behind, injuring the team’s top scorer. The ensuing instigator penalty was Dumulong’s fourth of the season.

Dumulong will be eligible to return to the Titan’s line-up in the regular season finale on March 21 against Cape Breton.
