Remparts name Etchegary team captain; Erne, Duclair and Graves named assistants
The Quebec Remparts named Kurt Etchegary the team’s new captain on Tuesday.
Etchegary, 20, has appeared in 53 games with the Remparts this season, recording 22 goals and 27 assists, along with posting a plus-23 rating and 74 penalty minutes. The native of St. John’s, N.L., has played his entire major junior career with Quebec.
The team also named forwards Adam Erne and Anthony Duclair, along with defenceman Ryan Graves the clubs assistant captains.
Erne, 19, has 72 points, 35 goals and 37 assists, along with posting a plus-21 rating and 87 penalty minutes in 49 games this season. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect has played his whole QMJHL career with the Remparts.
Duclair, 19, joined the Remparts following the World Junior Hockey Championship in January. In 14 games with Quebec this season, the New York Rangers prospect has six goals and 11 assists for 17 points, along with posting a plus-1 rating and 12 penalty minutes.
Graves, 19, has appeared in 37 games with Quebec this season, recording 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points, along with posting a plus-14 rating and 41 penalty minutes. The New York Rangers prospect has played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League between the P.E.I. Rocket/Charlottetown Islanders, Val-d’Or Foreurs and Remparts.
Quebec returns to action on Tuesday when they host the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
