Foreurs’ Pepin suspended four games; Islanders and Foreurs fined

Val-d’Or Foreurs forward Alexis Pepin has been suspended four games for physical abuse of officials.

The incident occurred Saturday Feb. 7, 2015 in Val-d’Or against the Charlottetown Islanders at the end of the third period. Pepin was assessed a game misconduct.

The 18-year-old, Candiac, Que., native has 14 goals and 20 points in 35 games this season split between Gatineau and the Foreurs.

Pepin is eligible to return to the Foreurs line up on Feb. 22, 2015 against the Quebec Remparts.

During the same game, Islanders players Ross Johnston and Guillaume Rioux-Legault were given one-game suspensions for an altercation or a fight at the end of a game. Both served their suspension Sunday in Rouyn-Noranda.

Foreurs forward Anthony Richard was also suspended one game.

Both teams were fined $1,000 for inappropriate behaviors at the end of the game. Rioux-Legault was also handed a $500 fine with his suspension.
