Mann-Dixon recalled for Sea Dogs weekend games
Ahead of the Saint John Sea Dogs two-game home stand against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles this weekend, the team has recalled Blade Mann-Dixon from the Valley Wildcats of the Maritime Hockey League.
The 17-year-old netminder is in his second season with the Wildcats after beginning the year with the Sea Dogs. In nine games, Mann-Dixon has posted a record of 5-2-2 with a goals-against average of 2.49 and a .923 save percentage.
A native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Mann-Dixon had a 1-1 record and a 4.56 goals-against average as well as a save percentage of .852 with Saint John before he was reassigned to the Valley. He was an 11th round pick, 185th overall, by the Sea Dogs in the 2014 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Draft.
In December, Mann-Dixon represented Canada East in the World Junior A Challenge which was held in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. He finished the tournament with a record of 1-3-0-1 in five games leading Canada East to the Bronze Medal Game where they were defeated by Russia.
Mann-Dixon is expected to dress for a pair of Sea Dogs games this weekend against Cape Breton, tonight at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 3 pm, at Harbour Station.
