Herbst to replace Blackwood at BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game


The Canadian Hockey League today announced that goaltender Liam Herbst of the Ottawa 67’s has been added to the Team Orr roster for the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game hosted by the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs on Thursday January 22, 2015.

Herbst, an 18-year-old from Etobicoke, ON, is listed 14th among North American goaltenders in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings.  Playing in his second OHL season with the 67’s, he carries a 12-5-1-1 record with a 2.78 goals-against-average and a .902 save percentage.

Herbst replaces Mackenzie Blackwood of the Barrie Colts who is unable to compete due to sudden illness.

The BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game features 40 of the CHL’s top draft eligible players for the 2015 NHL Draft.  This annual showcase features the next wave of NHL talent from the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
