World Juniors: Top Individual Award winners

Following the gold medal game on Monday, the selection committee for the World Junior Hockey Championship announced the top individual award winners from the tournament.

The best goaltender was Team Slovakia netminder Denis Godla. He posted four wins at the tournament, leading the Slovaks to their first medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship since 1999. Godla also posted a goals-against-average of 2.76.

The best defenceman was Team Russia blue-liner Vladislav Gavrikov. He had no points in seven games for Russia, but was solid defensively in the tournament.

The best forward was Team Canada’s Max Domi. The son of former NHLer, Tie Domi, recorded five goals and five assists in seven games for the Canadians.
