CONFIRMED: Screaming Eagles acquire Anderson from Foreurs
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have acquired forward Stephen Anderson from the Val-d’Or Foreurs in exchange for a 12th-round pick at the 2016 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.
Anderson, 20, has appeared in 163 career Quebec Major Junior Hockey League games between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Val-d’Or Foreurs, recording 41 goals and 47 assists, along with posting a minus-21 and 70 penalty minutes.
In 36 games with the Foreurs this season, the native of Charlottetown, P.E.I., has recorded 12 goals and eight assists, along with posting a minus-7 rating and 26 penalty minutes.
With the trade, the Screaming Eagles now have four 20-year-olds on their roster. Goaltender François Brassard and forwards Kyle Farrell, Marcus Hinds and Anderson.
There are rumours Brassard will be heading to the Ontario Hockey League’s Mississauga Steelheads, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
