CONFIRMED: Islanders land Dawe from Chicoutimi

The Charlottetown Islanders have acquired goaltender Nicholas Dawe from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

In return, the Sagueneens receive a ninth-round pick in the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Dawe, 17, was selected in the 11th round in the 2014 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Bedford, N.S. native has yet to debut in the QMJHL. Dawe, six-foot-three, has spent the majority of the season with the NSMMHL’s South Shore Mustangs. In 16 games with the Mustangs, the southpaw netminder posted a goals-against-average of 2.46 and a save percentage of 0.924 per cent. Recently, Dawe was recalled by the Bridgewater Lumberjacks of the MHL. The lanky goaltender was a fourth-round pick of the Lumberjacks in 2014. Dawe is a graduate of the Bedford Minor Hockey Association.

The winter trading period wraps up today at 12 p.m. ET.
