Titan swaps Gosselin to Chicoutimi for Leclerc
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan has acquired overage defenceman Alexandre Leclerc from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in-exchange for forward Gabriel Gosselin.
The Titan also sends a fifth-round pick in 2017 to the Sagueneens.
Leclerc, who is a five-year QMJHL veteran, will join the Titan as his second team this season and third in his career. The Chicoutimi, Que., native is a former second round pick of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies where he spent four seasons before being acquired by Chicoutimi during this summer’s draft. In 29 games with the Sagueneens, Leclerc has scored two goals and six points. The six-foot-four, 225-pound frame has amassed seven goals and 39 points in 253 regular season games with the Huskies and Sagueneens.
Gosselin, 18, was a ninth round pick by the Titan in 2013 and has scored six goals and 13 points in two seasons with the team.
The trade was made official by the QMJHL today. The trade period comes to close tomorrow at noon EST.
