Mooseheads’ Meier among Switzerland’s top players at World Junior Hockey Championship


Following their 5-2 victory over Team Germany in game two of the relegation round, Halifax Mooseheads forward Timo Meier was named one of three top players for Team Switzerland at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Meier, 18, recorded two goals and four assists in six games during the tournament.

In 33 games with the Mooseheads this season, Meier has posted 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points, along with recording a plus-11 rating and 29 penalty minutes.

Forwards Kevin Fiala and Noah Rod were also among Team Switzerland’s top players.
