REPORT: Olympiques to acquire Laplante and Veilleux from Tigres
According the J-F Plante of La Press, the Gatineau Olympiques will be acquire veteran forwards Yan Pavel Laplante and Tommy Veilleux from the Victoriaville Tigres during the trade period
In return, the Olympiqes will send 2014 second overall pick Pascal Laberge and a first-round pick in 2016 to the Tigres.
Laplante, 19, will find himself being moved during the trade period for a second straight season. The Ste-Martine, Que., native has 13 goals and 25 points in 20 games this season with Victoriaville.
The Phoenix Coyotes drafted Laplante 62nd overall in 2013.
Veilleux, also 19, is a former first round pick by the Tigres in 2011. In 31 games, the St-Georges-de-Beauce, Que., native has 10 goals and 14 points. He is a sixth round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2013.
In 27 games with Gatineau, 16-year-old Laberge has four goals and 10 points.
The trade period opens today.
