The Central IcePak swept its two-game series with the St. John’s Privateers this past weekend. It was a big series for both teams, as the Privateers had trailed the ‘Pak by six points heading into the weekend. Unfortunately for the St. John’s club, the two losses put them 10 points out of the playoffs with just 10 games to go.

Meanwhile, in Corner Brook, the Kings and Tri-Pen Osprey split a pair of games.

Saturday night in the Goulds, the IcePak got goals from five different players, en route to a 5-3 victory. Nick Fitzgerald, Scottie Greene, Kyle Regular, Riley Gill and Hunter Budgell did the damage up front, while Curtis Barrett made 27 saves in the victory. Colin Chafe, Max French and Nathan Whitten replied for the Privateers. Chafe also added a pair of assists, while Chris Smith stopped 25 shots, taking the loss.

At the Kinsmen Arena in Corner Brook Saturday, Cameron Simms led the way with a pair of goals, and Conal McNamara had a goal and three assists as the Osprey defeated the Western Kings by a score of 7-1. Ryan Dawson, Nathaniel Duffett, Cassidy Warren and Colin Parsons had the other goals for the winners. Brady Griffin-Hefford had the lone tally for the Kings. Brent Hatfield got the win, while Ian Woolfrey took the loss.

Sunday morning gave us two eventful games. At the Goulds Arena, Riley Gill scored with 27 seconds left in regulation, as the IcePak picked up a 3-2 win. Ryan Ricketts and Shayne Dominie had the other goals while Patrick Pilon and Whitten replied for St. John’s. Noah Weir got the win, and Smith took the tough loss.
