Océanic’s Gauthier named Team QMJHL captain; Graves, Laplante and Ranger to be assistant captains

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, in association with the Canadian Hockey League, announced Rimouski Océanic forward Frédérik Gauthier will be Team QMJHL’s captain at the Subway Super Series.
Gauthier, 19, has recorded three goals and two assists for five points in eight games with the Océanic.
The native of Laval, Que., was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft in round one, 21st overall.
The league also announced Quebec Remparts defenceman Ryan Graves, Victoriaville Tigres forward Yan Pavel Laplante and Chicoutimi Saguenéens forward Alexandre Ranger will be Team QMJHL’s assistant captains.
Graves, 19, has notched one goal and two assists for three points in five games with the Remparts this season. He was drafted by the New York Rangers at the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft in round four, 110th overall.
Laplante, 19, has recorded 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 20 games with the Tigres. He was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes, known as Phoenix at the time, in round three, 62nd overall, at the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Ranger, 19, has posted eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points in 17 games with the Saguenéens this season.
Game six of the Subway Super Series goes Thursday, Nov. 20, when Team QMJHL hosts Team Russia at 7 p.m. EST at the Colisée Financière Sun Life in Rimouski, Que.
